How it works
- Choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP files. Type is read from bytes.
- Pick an output format the browser encoder actually supports.
- Download a new file. The original is not overwritten.
Files stay in this tab. No upload.
Default 30 MB / 32 megapixels. Canvas encode strips metadata.
Supported inputs and outputs
Decode JPEG/PNG/WebP. Encode JPEG/PNG/WebP when the canvas MIME matches. AVIF is gated.
Example
An 8×8 PNG exported as WebP reopens as image/webp.
Questions and answers
Can I convert by renaming the extension?
No. The encoder must return the requested MIME. A PNG fallback is treated as unsupported.
